Step 2: Granulating

Plastic Recycling Solutions (PRS) uses granulation: the process of breaking plastic into small, uniform flakes.

Our flake is processed in 200-horsepower American-made granulators — the most reliable and heavy-duty granulating equipment available. After we granulate the plastic, we pass the regrind through an aspiration system to remove labels and any other foreign materials.

A Superior Process for Superior Results

A consistent flake size will wash more thoroughly, dry more consistently, reduce bridging, and melt more evenly. We achieve uniform flake size by using custom-manufactured granulator screens.

All of our screens have a unique, proprietary chamfer technology to ensure consistent flake size. And although our standard screen size is 1/2” (12mm), you may also special-order smaller flake sizes. Our 3/8” (10mm) granulator screens provide a smaller flake and very consistent regrind.
